The electric motor turns the spit automatically so you can focus on managing the heat and actually enjoying your event. Setup is straightforward. Ivan walks you through everything at drop-off.

The spit hire includes all rods, forks, and mounting hardware. Add charcoal, meat, and a cold drink. You're ready to cook.

Whole Pork, Lamb & More

Ethically sourced whole pigs, lambs, and goats, sourced through the same suppliers Ivan uses for his full catering service. Berkshire pork from SchuAm in Freeling available on request. We sort the meat, you cook it.

Charcoal

Australian mallee lump charcoal, the same stuff Ivan burns on his catering jobs. Burns hot and long, and gives the meat that deep, smoky flavour you can't get from gas.

Lighters & Firelighters

Everything you need to get the coals going from the start. No last-minute runs to the servo. It's packed with the hire.

Seasoning & Rubs

Basic seasoning included with your hire package. Let us know if you want anything specific. Ivan can advise on what works best for pork versus lamb.

The hire includes the full motor-driven spit roast rig with rotisserie rods, forks, and mounting gear, everything needed to cook. Charcoal, meat, lighters, and seasoning can be added as optional extras when you book.

Do you deliver the spit hire to my location?

Yes, we deliver and collect the rig across Adelaide and surrounding areas. Regional SA delivery is available depending on your location. Ask when you call.

How long does it take to cook a whole pig on the spit?

A whole pig typically takes 4–6 hours on the spit over charcoal, depending on size. A whole lamb runs around 3–4 hours. We'll give you a timing guide when you book so you can plan your event around the cook.

Do I need experience to hire and use the spit?

Not at all. It's simpler than it looks. Ivan runs you through the basics at drop-off. The electric motor handles the turning, so you're mainly managing the heat and basting.

Can you supply the whole pig or lamb as well as the spit?

Yes. We can source whole pigs, lambs, goats, and other cuts through our catering suppliers. Just confirm what you need when you book the spit hire.

What size space do I need for the spit rig?

The spit rig is approximately 1.5m long and needs clear space around it for airflow and safety. A backyard, farm property, or any open outdoor area works well. Indoor use is not recommended.

How long is the minimum hire period?

We hire by the day. Contact Ivan to discuss your event date and lock in availability.
